The people of Dollungmukh circle under Kamle district are up in arms demanding the shifting of Indian Air Force (IAF) bombing zone from the area. Recently one villager was injured while several domestic animals were killed because of the live bombing drills carried out by IAF in the area. Over the year the presence of bombing zone in the middle of human settlement at Dollungmukh circle has become major bone of contention between villagers and Indian Air Force. The villagers are bitterly opposed to it, while defence ministry is yet to find a solution. With the recent incidents of villagers getting injured and domestic animals being killed, it has become a highly emotive issue.
If it is not resolved amicably, the situation may turn volatile. The villagers are deeply angry and might turn the heat on IAF. This may lead to ugly confrontation between villagers and IAF which will not be good for the nation. The defence ministry should listen to the grievances of villagers. These people are suffering for no fault of theirs. It is matter of debate as to how a bombing zone should be allowed to establish near the human settlement. The state government should immediately take up the matter with govt of India. It is their duty to protect the lives of the people of Arunachal. The people of Dollungmukh should not suffer due to the apathy of state govt and defence ministry.
