‘Marijuana use among school students’

SEIJOSA, Jun 21: The All Pakke-Kessang Pijeriang Dissing-Passo Seijosa Students’ Union (APPDSSU) has written to the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) alleging that marijuana is easily available at Seijosa town.
The union claimed that students and youths of the area are getting addicted to it, which is ruining their lives.
“Many students of the government higher secondary school in Seijosa are prone to marijuana addiction and the poor performance of students in this year’s CBSE exam shows its ill effects,” it stated.
The union appealed to the ADC to carry out drive against illegal marijuana sellers and book the people responsible for smuggling illegal drugs into the area.
The APPDSSU has also called for strong action against those who are selling alcohol without license.
Further, they urged the administration to pass an order to stop selling alcohol to students and minors and sought strong action against those wine shops breaking such orders.
The APPDSSU has requested the ADC to pass strict order to the shopkeepers not to sell toxic substances, like tobacco, pan masala, and cigarettes to students and minors.
