HAPOLI, Jun 26: The All Lower Subansiri Trans-Arunachal Highway Land Affected People Forum (ALSTAHLAPF) has called for 12 hours bandh in Lower Subansiri and Kamle districts on 29 June from 5am to 5pm following the state government’s lack of response to its demands.
This was decided in a meeting here on 20 June after the state government failed to respond to its memorandum submitted on 6 June. The forum had given a deadline of 15 days to resolve the issues, which expired on 21 June.
The demands include immediate construction of the stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) beginning from Potin in Lower Subansiri district; public display of compensation beneficiaries’ list (DPR) (Paid and unpaid) along with bank document; release of compensation for both sides (LHS & RHS) under project RoW of the TAH of land affected families from Ziro 12km to Bopi as per assessment done; handing over the Potin to Bopi TAH compensation misappropriation case to CBI for free and fair investigation; suspension of all erring official responsible for misappropriation of public money; allocation of fund for repair and maintenance of road from Pine Grove to Pamluk and repair and maintenance of Possa Bridge, Kamla and Sigen bridges on Potin-Pangin TAH.
It also sought immediate constitution of a physical verification committee for Potin-Bopi TAH project; to immediately resolve the air traffic issue of the advance landing ground (ALG) at Ziro with the Airports Authority of India; clearance of all the compensation due to be paid as per assessment done; marking of the particular area where the compensation has already been paid, and to make the report of the enquiry committee public.
Saying that the decision was taken by the forum for the interest of Lower Subansiri and Kamle districts in particular, and the state as a whole, the ALSTAHLAPF appealed to all sections of the people to cooperate and support to make the democratic movement strong and successful.
