INNAO, Aug 1: A daylong awareness camp on the importance of tree plantation was held alongside a tree plantation drive at the government higher secondary school here, under Changlang district on Tuesday.
Initiated by school Principal Moli Tato, the plantation drive was conducted within the school campus with participation of students and staffers.
Wooden fences were also built for the 100 saplings provided by the forest department here.
Earlier, the awareness camp was divided into two technical sessions, where Tato gave away tips on practical aspects on growing saplings and taking care of them.
The principal also appointed two students for each sapling for regular upkeep, and urged the students to take good care of the plants.
