YUPIA, Aug 6: An assessment and review meeting of all the NVBDCP staffers under the Papum Pare DMO was conducted at the ZPC hall here last Friday to discuss the routine intensive source reductions (ISR) to be carried out from 6 August to 6 September.
District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (DVBDCP) Officer Dr Tana Aruna spoke about the norms and guidelines to be followed during the ISR exercise, and asked the participants to take preventive measures such as not allowing stagnant water to exist in and around households for more than a week; promoting regular use of mosquito nets while sleeping; applying lotions and using repellants during the day time; wearing long-sleeved clothes; and controlling vector (mosquito) breeding by keeping the surroundings hygienic.
“In case of any fever, the test and medicines are given free of cost at all the government health facilities,” she said.
Dr Aruna said the staffers of the DVBDCP are already engaged in field IEC and BCC activities for ISR, and requested everyone to cooperate with the source reductions team for creating a vector- and disease-free environment. (DIPRO)
