ZIRO, Aug 11: The Ziro unit of the Private Schools and Children Welfare Association, India, (PSCWA-I) organized a programme at Bumer Memorial School here on Saturday to felicitate all the private schools of Ziro.
Blue Pine School, Ziro Valley School and Nimey Ashram School were felicitated for securing 100 percent pass results in the recently held board examinations. Class X and XII toppers were also felicitated, and ABYSS School was honoured for producing the largest number of successful candidates for various entrance examinations.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Nending Chatung requested the private schools to adopt poor meritorious students as a part of their social responsibilities. The suggestion was warmly welcomed by all the members of the private institutions attending the meeting.
Applauding the contribution of the private schools in uplifting the education scenario in Ziro valley, the ADC said, “Today, Ziro is considered as the education hub of the state owing to the establishment of more than 36 private schools, many of them recording 100% pass results in the CBSE board examinations.”
Lower Subansiri DDSE Hibu Tama in his address emphasized on disaster management preparedness in all the schools.
“All schools should ensure safety measures are well in place and that the emergency exit plans of the schools are displayed at important places,” he said.
Besides stressing the need to provide training to private school teachers as well, Tama requested the private schools also to abide by the provisions of the Arun Board of the state government for a uniform curriculum.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by the PSCWA unit, demanding National Means-cum-Merit Scholarships for bright students of private schools, Tama assured to raise the issue with the higher authorities. He also assured to streamline the guidelines for establishing new schools to prevent overcrowding of private institutions.
PSCWA state president Parvati Gyati also spoke.
It is worth mentioning that Rubu Tadii, president of the Ziro unit of the PSCWA, received the ‘National award for educational transformation’ in the 3rd national council meet of private schools at Kolkata recently.
Among others, SP Hemant Tiwari, principals and teachers of all the private schools in Ziro participated in the programme. (DIPRO)
