It is a matter of immense pride that e-Cabinet project implemented by the Arunachal Pradesh IT & communication (IT&C) department has won global recognization. The project won award during 24th Technology Sabha organized by the Indian Express Group. Arunachal Pradesh is the first state in the whole of Northeast to implement e-Cabinet solution for the state’s cabinet members. Also the launching of MyGov Arunachal portal which is a unique platform for citizen’s participation and engagement, implemented by the state’s IT & communications department in collaboration with the Centre’s MyGov team is expected to empower the citizens.
State government deserves appreciation for promoting digital technology. It will help citizens to directly place their grievances to the authorities. In recent year, the government of Arunachal Pradesh has laid emphasis on digital connectivity. The use of information technology has potential to change the way of governance in the state. Arunachal Pradesh has acquired very bad reputation of being highly corrupt state. The babus working in various government departments are notorious for keeping file pending for months, which in turn badly hurts the progress of state. The use of digital technology will cut down these kinds of bureaucratic hurdles. Also the government should give major push to take internet to the interior villages of the state. Today internet has become very powerful tool to empower the citizens. In the meanwhile, let rejoice the achievement of IT & communication (IT&C) department. Hopefully the department will continue to work hard to improve governance in the state.
