Apropos to the report, ‘171 species documented in Ziro Butterfly Meet’ (AT, September 25, 2018); one must appreciate with open arms, the great conservation efforts initiated in such an elegant manner! At this crucial juncture when more species are becoming extinct than being discovered due to non judicious anthropogenic activities around the globe any news that highlights regional biodiversity is greatly appreciated as this is a part of the same global biodiversity that we cherish and share across the entire planet. My sincere thanks to Arunachal Times for their consistent efforts in highlighting and giving space to environmental and ecological news as always! This also helps in engaging our young citizens with the nature and making them aware of the rich biodiversity and heritage they are a part of.
