ITANAGAR, Nov 1: Launching of the state’s tourist police and the Arunachal Suraksha mobile app on 2 November at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre here will mark the beginning of the Arunachal Pradesh Police’ (APP) 46th raising day celebration on 8 November.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu will launch the Arunachal Suraksha mobile app, which has been developed free of cost by the NIC, Itanagar. It will empower citizens to send SOS’ to the nearest police stations, and save emergency contacts.
This would be followed by a series of events, including a seminar on ‘the challenges of policing in Arunachal’ at the legislative assembly on 3 November; inauguration of the women police station in East Kameng HQ Seppa on 4 November; a mural painting competition at the Chimpu PHQ by the Arunachal Pradesh Police Welfare Society from 5 to 7 November; parade and demonstration at IG Park on 8 November; and firing and athletic competition at the PTC in Banderdewa on 9 November.
