ITANAGAR, Nov 1: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal called for concerted efforts from all the telecom service and infrastructure providers in Arunachal Pradesh to ensure last-mile connectivity in the remote areas.
Addressing the first High Level Telecom Monitoring Committee meeting at the civil secretariat here on Thursday, the CS asked the telecom service providers to complete their projects on time, and gave assurance that the government departments, including the district administrations, would provide all necessary support required for the purpose.
The timelines and roadmaps of the projects for 407 VSATs and 1893 towers under the BSNL, 773 VSATs under the BBNL, optical fibre cable laying work under RailTel, and 149 planned towers under Airtel along the national highways were reviewed during the meeting.
The committee finalized the application fees and rental charges for setting up telegraph infrastructure as per the requirement of the RoW guidelines of the state, and also resolved issues pertaining to telecom projects in the state.
Among others, the east/west divisional commissioner, the secretary and the director of the IT&C, MoRTH representatives, and regional heads of various service providers attended the meeting. (PRO, CS)
