The state government recently signed Memorandums of Understanding with a good numbers of private business moguls. It is expected that investments by outside industrialists in various sectors will generate employment opportunity for more than eight thousand unemployed youths of the state.
It is said that MoUs have also been signed for investment in hospitality industry and also to conduct study on improvement of power distribution system. In addition to these initiatives, the Indian Oil Corporation has come forward to help a district level hospital in purchasing modern equipments.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu in September last had urged the major oil companies to focus mainly on health and education sector of the state. In FICCI’s summit on connectivity, the CM also expressed the willingness of the Arunachal Pradesh government to extend its full support to investors who are interested to invest in the state. ‘Arunachal with its unique flora and fauna, its large bio-diversity is relatively unexplored paradise for tourists. Tourism potential of the region remains largely untapped and there is great opportunity to develop tourism related infrastructure,’ the CM had said, while welcoming cooperation from the private sectors to harness the potentials of Arunachal Pradesh.
While welcoming the private investors, we hope that the state government would accelerate the road widening works besides improvement in health and education sectors of the state at par with other states of the country so that outside industrialists pay more attention and take interest to harness the potentials of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a fact that without improvement of connectivity, particularly road infrastructure, any attempt to lure the business tycoons to investment in state will be a exercise in futility.
