I am not an aspirant, but I can clearly see that the present ruckus created by the protesting candidates was uncalled for. They should have appeared for the exam instead of doing creating a hullabaloo. The process of exam starts as soon as the notification is published and any serious candidate would start preparing. In this case, notification was published in May 2017, I believe 2 years is enough time for preparing any exam. The arguments about ‘mental torture’ are more farcical. Any aspirant aspiring to become a civil servant should have so much emotional intelligence to handle some pressure. If their concentration is so brittle and delicate they should consider their choice one again. The decision makers must not get swayed by the empty slogans of the protesters and do the right thing- continue the exam and keep the wheel rolling.
