RUPA, Nov 18: Chief Minister Pema Khandu met with the Indian Army’s 5 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen RK Jha here in West Kameng district on Sunday, and the two discussed ways to carry forward the mission to build and maintain harmonious relations between the public and the army.
The chief minister spoke about the upcoming recruitment rally being organised by the army for the state’s youths, and urged the army to carry out awareness drives among the youths about pursuing careers in the armed forces.
The two also discussed the celebration of the 10th annual civil-military festival, Maitree Divas, which is scheduled to be held in Tawang on 1 and 2 December.
They also dwelt on the job opportunities in the Indian Army, and the scope for recruitment of Arunachalee girls as officers. (CMO)
