ANSU pays tributes to Tallang and Hira on death anniversary

ITANAGAR, Nov 18: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) observed the 27th death anniversary of Biki Tallang and Kabak Hira at its office here on Sunday.
The ANSU executive members led by its president Toko Takam and general secretary Tukbom Ligu, along with family members and relatives, prayed and offered floral tributes to the portraits of Tallang and Hira.
Former ANSU vice-president Biki Tallang and Kabak Hira died in a road accident in 1991.
“Tallang was a very sincere, dedicated and energetic student leader, and he will be remembered as long as ANSU exists,” said Takam.
He was instrumental in getting fund sanctioned for construction of the boys’ and girls’ hostels of Dera Natung Government College.
Tallang, who was popularly called ‘Netaji’ by his friends, also voiced against social evils like forced and child marriage, and polygamy, especially in the Nyishi belts, the ANSU leader said.
Later, the ANSU executive members planted trees around the office premises.
