SHILLONG, Dec 17: A delegation of the Arunachal Pradesh unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) led by its president Gicho Kabak called on the party’s national president Conrad K Sangma here in Meghalaya on Monday, and discussed various party-related issues.
The delegation discussed with the NPP chief the current political scenario in Arunachal Pradesh, and
steps to strengthen the party’s organization in the state in view of the forthcoming general election, state NPP spokesperson Nima Sangey Saling said in a release.
Sangma, who is also the chief minister of Meghalaya, assured full support and cooperation to ensure the party’s victory in the election.
“The NPP Central Core Committee for Arunachal Pradesh is formulating a mechanism to synchronize the winnable candidates of every assembly constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh,” Saling said.
National executive members of the NPP, cabinet ministers of the Meghalaya government, including Home Minister James Sangma, Industries Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, MLA Thomas Sangma, and other senior leaders were present at the meeting.
The state delegation included NPP legislative party leader Tanga Byaling, the party’s state vice president Anok Wangsa, Saling, and Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Union chairman Sushil Nalo.
