An open letter to Health Minister on TRIHMS

Dear Editor,
I would like to draw the attention of the Health Minister Arunchal Pradesh.
Recently, I had an unpleasant at the same time unethical experience while attending to my sister who had a surgery in Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences.
We expect the government run health facilities to be at cheaper rates for the benefit of the poor and downtrodden but to my utter surprise, the rate of a cabin bed in female surgery ward of TRIHMS was much more than the rate of Rama Krishna Mission Hospital.
They were charging Rs 750 per bed, per night in a cabin with 4 beds which is almost same as Heema hospital but in RKMH, it is much cheaper.
Why I am lamenting my experiences here is because I tried so many times for fee concession and forwarded my personal grievances before the authority which was not entertained.
Are there any other govt run medical institutes in the country which are charging treatment fees from patients at par with private hospitals?
We believe that govt medical institute is for poor people and should be much cheaper, if not free.
Govt’s schemes for the welfare of people of the state in particular and country as a whole must percolate down to last person standing.
I request the concerned authority to look into the matter with an intention to streamline the whole structure as well as functioning of the system.
Sincerely,
A concern citizen
