Appreciate Kiren Rijiju for acknowledging the Gorkhas

Dear Editor,
I would like to thank Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju for acknowledging the contribution of Indian Gorkhas in building India.
We really appreciate him and we are deeply honoured & overwhelmed by his love and affection shown to our community during Haritalika Teej Mahotsav held in New Delhi, last September which was organized by Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust and Bharat Swabhiman Trust.
He is indeed a true leader who believes in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
He said the height relaxation would be given to the Gorkha community & on 19th November, 2018, the historic decision was made officially by the Govt of India.
Had there been someone like him before, we would also have been shining like other citizens of the country.
Now, we request him to visit Vijaynagar & interact with the Ex-Assam Rifles personnel who sacrificed a lot to bring the valley within the Indian Territory.
But even after sacrificing so much for the nation, the Gorkhas of Vijaynagar are deprived of even basic facilities, like education, primary health and constitutionally too, there is injustice in every front. We’re being neglected in our own country.
We urge Rijiju along with the CM Pema Khandu to look into the promises made to us by the Govt of India under NEFA administration during the time of settlement.
Sincerely,
Bhumi Upadhayaya
