ITANAGAR, Jan 20: The poor maintenance of the high-mast lights in the capital region is becoming a matter of concern with residents saying that the lights often do not serve their purpose, owing to the power department’s negligence.
“In several areas where high-mast lights have been erected, the department does not switch off the lights even during daytime. Because of this the bulbs blow out soon. Most of the lights do not function,” said a resident.
“The department should involve residents’ welfare committees and train youths on how to switch the high-mast lights off and on. Also, most of the poles are in urgent need of repair,” he said.
