ZIRO, Feb 11: The election training for the officials of Lower Subansiri district was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Chukhu Takar here on Monday.
Addressing the officials, the DC said the success of elections depends on the ability of the presiding officers to conduct the polling process at their polling stations successfully.
“The officers will have to familiarize themselves with the entire electoral process and the newly-introduced electronic voting machine (EVM) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machine,” he said.
Informing that female officials would be appointed as presiding officers this time, Takar urged them to take the training seriously.
The four-day training will feature mock polls and hands-on training on EVM and VVPAT. (DIPRO)
