KOLORIANG, Apr 10: The state police and various agencies engaged by the ECI have seized over Rs 85 lakhs in cash and liquors worth Rs 4.69 lakhs from Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts since the enforcement of the election model code of conduct.
The total amount of cash seized from Kurung Kumey stood at Rs 74.6 lakhs, besides liquors worth Rs 2.69 lakhs, while in Kra Daadi, the authorities recorded seizures of Rs 11 lakhs in cash and liquors worth Rs 2 lakhs, informed Kurung Kumey District Election Officer (DEO) Santosh Kumar Rai.
A few arms and ammunitions were also seized, the DEO said.
According to the ECI’s progressive seizure report, the total amount of cash seized across the state has risen to Rs 6.69 crore from Tuesday’s Rs 6.28 crore.
