ITANAGAR, Apr 21: The total voter turnout has increased with the re-polling held on 20 April, and it now stands at 78.23 percent, as per the update received from the election commission here on Sunday.
The last update had reported 77.38 percent total voter turnout.
The voter turnout for the west parliamentary constituency has also increased to 73.70 percent from the previous percentage of 72.89, while the turnout for the east parliamentary constituency has increased to 84.44 percent from 83.52 percent.
The numbers have increased owing to the re-polls held in Bomdila, Bameng, Chayang Tajo, Yachuli, Daporijo, Dumporijo, Liromoba, Likabali, Pangin, Namsai, Kanubari and Longding-Pumao constituencies.
Regarding the re-polling in Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kangki Darang informed that the Election Commission of India is likely to inform about it on Sunday evening or by Monday afternoon.
