AALO, Apr 29: A range of issues, including traffic congestion, identification of bus and taxi terminals, road works, drainage system, etc, were discussed during a meeting between West Siang DC Swetika Sachan, administrative officers, the police and market committee members here on Monday.
It was decided during the meeting to take up all issues of concern with various unions and associations to ensure effective implementation of solutions.
It was also decided that the entry of heavy commercial vehicles would be regulated on the crowded roads to do away with traffic congestion.
While the Tata Sumo taxis can carry out ticketing anywhere, they would have to be parked at the STCS station, and a stand for auto-rickshaws will also be earmarked, it was decided.
The DC and the highway department AE disclosed that the company entrusted to carry out double-laning of the Potin to Pangin road will resume work from August, and appealed to all to cooperate with the repairing activities being carried out presently. (DIPRO)
