RAGA, Jun 11: Kamle DC Miki Loyi has called for unified efforts from all stakeholders to ensure that biomedical hazards are prevented in the district.
The DC said this during the first district level committee meeting on biomedical waste management, which was held here on Tuesday.
DMO Dr Nani Rika spoke on safe disposal of biomedical waste, emphasizing the need to provide training to all the health workers in handling such waste.
“Proper segregation of wastes is the first step to effectively dispose of waste,” he said. The DMO also informed the members about the different colours designated for different wastes.
“Although Raga is yet to face any biomedical waste hazard, we have to have a plan ready,” he said.
The meeting was attended by all the members of the monitoring committee. (DIPRO)
