ZIRO, June 16: A awareness programme cum blood donation camp was organized by the Tanii Development Forum (TDF), a Ziro based NGO, in collaboration with the blood bank of the Gyati Takka General Hospital here to mark the World Blood Donors Day at Hapoli in Lower Subansiri district on 14 June.
Nine units of blood were donated by the participants in the programme, including former MLA Nani Ribya.
Earlier, Ribya and other dignitaries applauded the blood bank officer and TDF for their joint venture in creating awareness about the need of voluntary blood donations, and pledged their support in such endeavours in future also.
GTGH’s Blood Bank Officer, Dr Joram Khopey gave a power-point presentation on importance of voluntary blood donations and the need of blood in the state to save the life of patients.
Among others, Khoda Gyati Chief Engineer (EZ) RWD, Kago Tabiyo, retired Joint Director, Industry, Gyati Mali, CRPF, IAF personnel, college students, public leaders attended the programme, which was supported by the State Blood Transfusion Council, Naharlagun.
