Meritorious students felicitated

DAPORIJO, Jun 24: The education department has felicitated the meritorious students from various schools in Upper Subansiri district who excelled in Classes 5, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 examinations conducted by the Arun Board and the CBSE.
As many as 166 students were felicitated and provided with smartphones, laptops and cash prizes during a function here on Monday.
While 106 students who passed the Class 12 examination in arts, science and commerce streams during 2017-18 were given a smartphone each under the CMSSY, 20 science students of Class 9 and Class 11 were given a laptop each under the Acharya Dornacharya Grukul Yojana (ADGY).
Twenty students, 10 each from Class 5 and Class 8, who topped the Arun Board examination during 2018-19 were given cash prizes of Rs 2000 each.
Likewise, 20 students, 10 each from Class 10 and Class 12 who topped the CBSE examination from the district were given cash prize of Rs 3000 each.
DC Danish Ashraf distributed the incentives to the students.
Laptops and smartphones were also distributed to the CBSE toppers of Papum Pare district, under the ADGY and the CMSSY, in a programme organised by the DDSE in Doimukh on Monday.
ADC Tabang Bodung gave away the cash incentives and certificates to the toppers, laptops to the meritorious students under the talent hunt scheme, and smartphones to Class 12 girl students (2017-18) in the presence of DDSE ST Zara, BEO Gollo Tacheng, and others.
The DDSE highlighted various central and state flagship programmes that are being implemented, and urged parents and students to avail the benefits of the schemes. (DIPROs)
