No job opportunities for commerce students

Dear Editor,
I would like to place my grievance to the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
We, the commerce postgraduate students, especially the NET/SLET qualified students, are facing the problem of unemployment in our state.
For instance, in the recently concluded assistant professor interview, the posts were two and the applicants were 60 – which means that the ratio of applicants against the post was 1:30.
We know that there are many degree and model colleges in our state where commerce stream is yet to be introduced. The teachers who have been recruited are facing problems because of the growing numbers of commerce students. The ratio between the students and teachers is not enough and not in the norms of government guidelines. More teachers are required as of now.
Therefore I request the state government to introduce commerce stream in all model and degree colleges and recruit more college teachers for commerce, so that the state’s unemployment rate will be reduced.
Sincerely,
An aspirant
