ITANAGAR, Aug 29: Members of the Arunachal Pradesh Child Development Project Officers’ Welfare Association (APCDPOWA) on Thursday apprised Women & Child Development (WCD) Minister Alo Libang of various issues during a meeting here.
The APCDPOWA members briefed the minister on the possibilities of improvements in the department in addition to the Poshan Abhiyan, the PM Matru Vandana Yojna, the BBBP, the ICPS, the Domestic Violence Act, crèches, old-age pension, disability pension, widow pension, etc.
They highlighted the bottlenecks faced in delivering services, in terms of irregular release of honorariums and salaries, office expenses, lack of office building and staff quarters, and such.
The minister commended the services rendered by the department, particularly by the anganwadi workers and helpers, and assured to assist in all possible ways to improve the department.
The APCDPOWA members also met with the newly appointed WCD Secretary Niharika Rai.
