ANSU demands probe into unnatural death of leader

ITANAGAR, Sep 19: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has demanded that the state government initiate proper inquiry into the unnatural death of social activist and former president of the All Tali Area Students’ Union, Tatung Tagok.
In a representation to the home minister, the union on Wednesday condemned the alleged “barbaric act of the police personnel involved in the incident” and demanded a proper departmental inquiry and action against the personnel who were deployed at Hollongi on the night of 3 September, when the incident occurred.
“The ANSU stands with the family members of late Tatung Tagok and demand the state government for justice and necessary action in regards to Tatung Tagok’s unnatural death case,” the union stated, and demanded that the government immediately release ex gratia to the bereaved family and “provide them fair compensation in terms of government job.”
