ITANAGAR, Sep 19: The All Tali Area Students’ Union on Wednesday urged the state government to take steps for early restoration of the collapsed Bailey bridge over the Kumey river at Kuwa in Tali circle of Kra Daadi district.
“The Bailey bridge was constructed by the Tali PWD division with a total sanctioned amount of Rs 14 crore and was yet to be officially inaugurated. The collapse of the bridge is a huge loss for the people of Tali and Pipsorang as it connected the people of Tali headquarters with the rest of the state,” the union said.
It requested the authority concerned to constitute a committee to conduct an impartial inquiry into the reason behind the collapse of the bridge.
