Assn alleges discrepancies in APPSC’s civil JE exam

ITANAGAR, Sep 19: Alleging “gross discrepancies” in the way the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) conducted the examination for the posts junior engineers (civil) on 8 and 9 June this year, the Arunachal Unemployed Civil Engineers’ Association in a representation to the APPSC secretary on Thursday requested him to either re-conduct the exam or provide complete compliance report of the exam.
The association claimed that candidates who had appeared for the exam at various examination centres had found several discrepancies.
“At the Royal International School (Papu Nallah) examination centre, the same roll number was allotted to two candidates. Similarly, the same roll number was allotted to three candidates at the NERIST (Nirjuli) exam centre. The same roll number was also allotted to two candidates at the DNGC (Itanagar) exam centre,” the association claimed.
It also alleged that there were several cases of issuing of more than two admit cards with different roll numbers and examination centres.
“Also, on 9 June, during Technical Paper-II, it was found that the previous days’ question paper of GS and general English were inside a seal packed unwritten answer booklet. This means possibility of leakage of question paper. This incident is already known to the APPSC examination controller and was strongly opposed by the appearing candidates during the examination at the Gyan Ganga School (Itanagar) centre,” the association said.
