ITANAGAR, Jan 8: Arunachal bagged two gold and six bronze medals in the BFI North East Zone Boxing Championship, which was held in Assam’s Chirang district from 3 to 6 January.
Heli Tana Tara (59 kg) and Poken Siga (60 kg) clinched the gold medals, informed Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association secretary Dari Laknia. Nagram Roman and John Tagru were the coach and the manager, respectively, of the state team.
It may be mentioned here that Tara was adjudged the best boxer in the recently held All India Inter-varsity Boxing Championship in Uttar Pradesh.
