DEGO, Jan 8: Activities like quiz competitions and booklets distribution were held among the public as part of a ‘special outreach programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)’, organised by the Aalo-based field outreach bureau at Dego village, in West Siang district, on Tuesday.
The programme, which was organised in coordination with the 5th infantry brigade of the Indian Army, the Women Welfare Society of Dego village, and the government secondary school here, began with a public rally, which saw the participation of government officials, jawans, students and others.
Addressing the participants, junior teacher Gena Prasad advised them to maintain personal hygiene and stop the practice of open defecation. He also urged all to avoid the use of polythene bags.
M Basar from the field outreach bureau, Lt Col Borlongeki Bey, and Dego HGB Poken Lollen also spoke.
