TATO, Mar 5: Aalo (West Siang)-based NGO Mother’s Vision conducted a weeklong awareness programme on drug abuse and its prevention, methods to deal with addicts, parenting skills, HIV/AIDS, STD, etc, at Tato and Mechuka in Shi-Yomi district from 28 February to 4 March.
The NGO’s chairperson, Jumde Gamlin, met with members of various CBOs and advised them to adopt methods to protect the young generation from the menace of drugs.
Mother’s Vision general secretary Kenbi Bagra spoke on the role of education in keeping teenagers away from harmful activities, while Tobom Padu Ete and Kirbom Padu Ete spoke on “the need and techniques to bring out the best from the children.”
Yangam Ete Padu and Gebom Ete Padu elaborated how women can equally contribute along with their male counterparts, rather than limiting themselves to household activities only.
