ITANAGAR, Mar 12: “Poverty alleviation has to be achieved by encouraging entrepreneurship and building on the skills of the rural poor,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.
Chairing a meeting of the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) with Rural Development Minister Bamang Felix, Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, and others here on Thursday, the CM said the state government is looking to create more job opportunities not only in the government sector but also in the private sector, with support from entrepreneurs.
Numerous workshops and investment summits have been conducted in the state with the aim of encouraging investment and entrepreneurship in the state.
“Arunachalee people are hard-working and what they need is handholding support,” Khandu said.
Earlier, officers of the ArSRLM presented an overview of the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission and the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.
This was followed by a discussion on selection of locations for establishing district mission management units and additional block mission management units. (CM’s PR Cell)
