Dear Editor,
With this Covid-19 pandemic creating havoc around the world, I would like to make a few suggestions to the authorities concerned to enforce a few steps under the Epidemic Act for people who have to come out to purchase essential commodities.
1. Make wearing facemask for every citizen compulsory. It will not only prevent spread of disease but will lessen the probability of the person wearing the mask from being infected. To make masks, local tailors can be employed.
2. Hand sanitizer/hand wash provision compulsory in every shop.
3. Installation of as many disinfectant (hypochlorite) spray chambers as possible.
These enforcements could be on top of the already existing recommendations like home quarantine and social distancing.
