BOMDILA, May 11: Three traders here in West Kameng district were booked for violating various provisions of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, during a routine inspection carried out by a team of the legal metrology & consumer affairs (LMCA) department at the market here on Monday.
One of the traders was found selling packaged items without mandatory information, such as MRP, while the other two were selling goods with fake price stickers pasted over the manufacturers’ print prices.
“These kinds of unfair practices will not be tolerated,” said LMCA Assistant Controller Tasso Guro, who led the inspection team.
He appealed to the consumers to lodge complaints at his office “as and when they come across such unfair practices.”
The team also inspected the lone petrol pump here and test-checked the accuracy of delivery.
