Waii visits PTC quarantine centre, says wrong picture presented on SM

BANDERDEWA, May 11: Former home minister and NPP leader Kumar Waii on Monday visited the quarantine centre at the PTC here and donated 200 cases of packaged drinking water for the returnees housed at the quarantine centre.
Commending the efforts of the police, the health workers and the magistrate concerned, Waii said: “The PTC quarantine centre is quite good. What is being shown on social media is not the true picture. The officials handling the quarantine centre are doing a good job. They are putting extraordinary efforts.”
He advocated properly segregating the returnees, who have come from different parts of the country.
Expressing concern over people coming out in large numbers on the streets, Waii urged them to “take moral responsibility in the battle against Covid-19 pandemic.”
“It is wrong to always blame the government over every issue. The government gave some relaxation, but people are behaving irresponsibly and ignoring the social distancing norms. The people should know their responsibility too,” he said, and urged the people to remain indoors and follow the healthcare directives issued by the authorities concerned.
He meanwhile urged hotel owners to “support the government’s effort to convert hotels into quarantine centres,” and said he would himself “extend all possible contribution in this regard.”
