IPR dept launches weeklong Covid-19 awareness campaign in West Kameng

BOMDILA, 17 Mar: The IPR department here in West Kameng district launched a weeklong awareness campaign to disseminate correct information about the novel coronavirus as well as to encourage the people to receive the anti-Covid-19 vaccine.

The first day of the campaign under the Arunachal Rising campaign was organized at the community hall of Singchung village. It will cover Balukpong, Nafra, Shergaon and Thrizino.

Resource person Dr T Droma Jamba, while interacting with the participants, updated on the whole process of vaccination and its benefits. She appealed to all the eligible persons to come forward to get vaccinated.

“We are fortunate that the government is providing the vaccines free-of-cost to everyone above 60 years and those over 45 years with co-morbidities,” she added.

EAC A Kri said that Covid-19 is a sensitive issue and utmost care should be taken to keep oneself protected. He urged the public to maintain Covid-appropriate behaviour all the time even after getting the vaccine jabs.

DIPRO in-charge Lobom Tamin appealed to all, including the PRI leaders, the ASHAs to not believe in rumours about the vaccines and disseminate correct information. Pamphlets containing information on Covid-19 were distributed to the public. (DIPRO)
