DC urges PRI leaders to be custodians of govt assets

TAWANG, 17 Mar: Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok urged the PRI members to be the custodians of government assets that are left unused in villages.

“Tawang has one of the best team of officers who work sincerely and also get very good cooperation from the public and this good coordination must continue,” Phuntsok said in a meeting of the Tawang Zilla Parishad here on Wednesday.

Tawang ZPC Leki Gombu, who chaired the meeting, said his priority will be on the education sector and sought cooperation from all.

The DDSE apprised the DC and others regarding the government’s initiative to merge non-functional schools with low enrolment for better management and improving the quality of education.

The medical superintendent of the KDS district hospital said that the district hospital urgently needs general duty medical officers.

Issues like shortage of manpower in the electrical department and the ways and means to ensure uninterrupted power supply were also discussed.

The HoDs briefed about the staffers’ positions in their respective departments and the various problems faced by the departments.

Earlier, ZPMs of Kyidphel and Mogto, on behalf of all the ZPMs, raised some queries with regard to existing government schools, agriculture and horticulture schemes and about the sincerity of government employees working at village levels.
