3rd phase refresher prog begins at RGGP

ITANAGAR, 3 May: The third phase of the refresher programme on ‘Engineering applications of optimization’, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), started at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) here on 3 May.

Fifty-two participants, comprising faculty members and research scholars from various engineering and diploma institutions across the country are attending the programme, which will conclude on 8 May.

Addressing the participants, ISTE executive secretary Vijay D Vaidya said that “engineering design approach needs both optimization and analysis and is different from technological design.”

“The online training programme provides a golden opportunity for learners to equip themselves with the latest technologies, and the ISTE is working on a number of such programmes for the year 2021-22,” he added.

Itanagar DHTE Deputy Director Sanjay Bengia expressed hope that the programme would be beneficial to the participants from different parts of the country.

AUE HoD (in-charge) Dr D Devarasiddappa threw light on the important aspects of the refresher programme, emphasizing on “modelling and optimization techniques and their applications in the field of engineering and technology, such as additive manufacturing, robotic automation, etc.”
