ITANAGAR, 15 May: In view of the surge in Covid cases in the capital and the state as a whole, Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang has appealed to the people to strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviour “to restrain the virus in spreading further.”
Speaking to reporters, the mayor informed that the IMC is sanitizing all the public places like banks, police stations and other establishment for the last few days. At the request of various religious leaders, the IMC on Saturday sanitized various religious institutions in the capital region.
Phassang said that if anyone wants to sanitize their area, they may call the IMC through their local corporators.
“The IMC, administration, health department and police are doing their part, but they cannot alone contain this virus. What we need at this hour is support from the public,” he said, adding that Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccination are the only solution to contain the virus.
