ITANAGAR, 15 Dec: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)’s North East Frontier Inspector General (IG) Shyam Mehrotra called on Governor B.D Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to security and improvement of communication in the border areas.
The governor, while commending the role and effort of the ITBP in Arunachal, emphasized on their training and musketry practices as also their cooperation towards the social and medical assistance of the people of the state.
He advised the ITBP to extend humanitarian assistance to the people in the border areas in time of emergency.
Mishra said that the ITBP must encourage local youths to join the armed forces in national interest and for mutual benefit of the local people and the organization.
Mehrotra, who has taken charge of NE Frontier headquarters recently, assured the Governor to take up the points advised by him. (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
