ITANAGAR, 25 Feb: John Lapung of Arunachal Pradesh will represent India at the ASBC Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championship, to be held in Amman, Jordan from 28 February to 15 March.
He is among the 50 boxers selected from across the country by the Boxing Federation of India for the event.
The 16-year-old pugilist from Seppa in East Kameng district will compete in the junior 52 kg flyweight category.
Lapung had won a bronze medal in the Junior National Boxing Championship which was held in Sonepat, Haryana in 2021.
He is a product of the Ganga Boxing Club near here.
