Training progs on agri, allied activities

RAGA, 2 Apr: The Kamle district agriculture officer conducted a series of training programmes on agriculture and allied activities under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency at Dokum, Tumporijo and Repari villages from 31 March to 2 April.

During the programmes, ADO (SMAE) Koj Horming highlighted the need to adopt improved crop technologies, the potential for off-season crop production, improving the farmers’ income, and “turning the areas into vegetable production hubs with respect to increasing demand of the horticultural crops in the region.”

ATM Duyu Monya dwelt on low-cost protected cultivation of vegetables and the techniques thereof, while ATM Hibu Yam spoke on the ethno-medicinal plants of Arunachal Pradesh and their uses and preservation, and ATM Hage Aku spoke on integrated pest management of Mandarin orange.

Field demonstration of different methods and techniques of propagation of horticultural crops was also conducted.

Around 150 farmers benefitted from the programmes.
