Admin destroys poppy cultivation in Anjaw

ANJAW, 13 Apr: Some 8.5 hectares of poppy cultivations in different locations of Walla, Kamdi and Ngi villages in Hawai circle of Anjaw district were destroyed by the district administration and state police personnel on 10 April last.

The poppy destruction operation was led by Anjaw deputy commissioner Talo Jerang while personnel of Arunachal Pradesh police were deployed under the supervision of SI Ojing Moyong of Hawai police station to maintain law and order.

The district administration had earlier warned illegal poppy cultivators of initiating strict action against them for carrying out poppy cultivation. (DIPRO)
