WAKRO, 29 Apr: Digital literacy programme for the government schools in Lohit district was launched here on Friday by 2 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen Dheerendra Singh Kushwah.
The programme is being implemented under the ‘Sri Sri rural development programme’ of the Art of Living. It has been conceptualised by social leader Chinmay Panth and is being implemented by social activists Ashok Harischandre and Kunal Nanaware.
Under the programme, smart class systems with smart TVs and BYJU’S learning material will be provided to nine government schools in the region.
Handing over the first smart-class system to teacher Ajitso Ama of the government primary school in Thowong, the GOC exhorted the students and members of the community to pursue knowledge and education with devotion and zeal.
Dao Division FWO chairperson Shalini Kushwah, GB Pukhuri Sodoulum and social activist Baling Ngadong were also present on the occasion.
Later, the GOC provided games and sports items along with ration for the rural schoolchildren.
