CYMA delivering drinking water to flood-affected families in Assam

AIZAWL, 26 Jun: The Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) and many branches of the YMA here in Mizoram have decided to deliver bottled drinking water to the people of Cachar and Silchar in Assam who are reeling under the devastations caused by floods.
Silchar is reportedly the most affected by the floods. The waters there are yet to recede, and besides everything else, there is acute shortage of drinking water.
The locals here have donated their vehicles to carry the cargo to the needy people reeling under floods.
So far 15,000 litres of bottled drinking water have been sent to Silchar in vehicles contributed for the purpose by the local people. A YMA functionary said that the consignent will be handed over to the deputy commissioner of Cachar district, to be distributed to the flood-affected people in Silchar.
