TEZU, 9 Jul: The Newman Educational Society (NES) said that it conducted its “last leg of the daylong in-service teachers training programme for all its teachers working in the eight districts of east Arunachal Pradesh at Krick and Bourry Memorial School” here in Lohit district on Saturday.
Addressing the 750 teachers serving for the NES, Bishop George Pallipparambil of the Miao diocese said, “The primary objective of this training programme is to help the teachers become aware of the new challenges in education and help them
become better teachers to create students who are able to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.”
The NES, which is the educational wing of the Miao diocese, has 53 schools spread across the eastern part of Arunachal. “It is important to train the trainers in order to be effective teachers in our efforts to educate the last, least and the lost,” said the Salesian prelate.
Meanwhile, addressing 85 teachers from eight schools in and around Tezu town, Father John Pudussery, the rector of the Bosco Training Institute, Tinsukia (Assam), said, “Education has evolved and so are the methods of education. We need to update ourselves as educators to be relevant to the Generation Alpha as students. This training is to sharpen and to hone our teaching skills.”
Similar programmes were earlier organised at Holy Spirit School in Senua and De Paul School in Tissa in Longding district; Christ the King School in Khonsa and the Don Bosco School in Kheti in Tirap district; and St Xavier’s School in Nampong, the Don Bosco School in Galenja and St Jude School in Diyun.
All the teachers were given certificates of participation at the end of the training session.
