LONGDING, 4 Aug: The security forces nabbed a self-styled captain of the NSCN (K-YA), identified as Azen Wangsu, from near Zedua village in Longding district on Wednesday on the charge of extorting money in Longding town.
During interrogation, Wangsu confessed to his involvement in extortion and recruitment attempts on behalf of the NSCN (K-YA). Initial interrogation revealed that he had been assigned as the ‘revenue secretary’ for Tirap and Longding districts.
Wangsu has been handed over to the Longding police, and an FIR has been registered against him. (DIPRO)
