JAIRAMPUR, 17 Nov: A 15-day NABARD-sponsored MEDP training programme on food processing, being conducted by the RK Mossang Memorial Society (RKMMS), got underway here in Changlang district on Thursday.
The programme is aimed at training 30 women from Jairampur area, comprising members of women SHGs and unemployed women, to help them become entrepreneurs.
On the inaugural day, NABARD DDM Kamal Roy said that “the RKMMS and the NABARD have a long relationship and jointly organised various training programmes, such as large cardamom fibre craft, dairy farming, Tangsa bag-making, rural mart, etc.”
He informed that “the ways to make pickle business successful are by maintaining quality of the pickle, so that the taste remains the same; getting FSSAI licence for making and selling pickles; using certified weight machines; ensuring leak-proof packaging; and marketing and packing of processed food.”
RKMMS chairperson Komoli Mossang also spoke.
